Would you buy this (1984 Toyota 4Runner - $2000)
This is what the ad says
"It is a 2 door, has a standard transmission, a removable camper-shell, 4WD, and 255,000 total vehicle miles. I have replaced both the engine and transmission in the within the last 500 miles. The new engine is a 1987 22R long block (4 cylinder), I replaced all of the gaskets and bearings, but didn't bore out the cylinders or replace any rings or pistons. The new transmission is a G52 Marlin Crawler rebuild that was rebuilt recently before I bought it and put it in. Both should have many happy miles before they need any work. I have also replaced the alternator, battery (which still has 2.5 years of warranty), starter, and exhaust (it has a 4" "turbo pipe exhaust" from the Catylitic Converter back). The previous owner replaced the radiator, and had it painted white. Everything works (except the cruise control). It has the original stereo in it, but I am willing to throw in (and install) either a Tape deck or CD player and put some 5.25" Sony Explode speakers in the back if you want me to.
Please email me if you want more pictures or call Caleb at (970) 640-3851 with any questions or inquires (I am most likely to answer after 12PM)
Thank you for looking. "
I sold my 86 runner about a year ago now looking for a previous generation with a solid axle so let me know what you think of this one.

Didn't do the piston rings? She might be an oil burner. That and rust... your two worst case scenarios. THe axles may or may not leak. But if the tanny is new and the engine runs... and the body is a keeper... I'd dish out 2k.
