Vinyl or Carpet for my cab

I'm getting ready to redo the interior of my cab, now that I'm basically done with all the mechanical issues my truck had.

The plan is to remove the current vinyl, clean the floor real good, then install some peel n seal before putting the floor covering back in. The current vinyl has a couple of tears in the driver's side floor board, so I'm going to replace it or maybe have it repaired if possible.

My question to y'all is:

Should I go with new carpet on the floor or new vinyl? It's a DD for the most part with occasional mild off-roading for hunting and fishing and generally screwing around. The vinyl is very easy to clean, which has me leaning in that direction, but the carpet would deaden the sound a bit more and look better (if I can keep it clean). I'd probably add some floor mats in both cases.

so - Carpet or Vinyl?

Between those two, I'd go Vinyl just for the ease of keeping it clean.
I am currently running bare floorboards, and plan on rhino-lining it in the future.

i did the same thing when i was in the middle of my auto to manual swap...home depot special peel and seal with their 'all weather proof outdoor carpet'...if i had to do it all over again, i'd just go vinyl in a truck. carpet sucks to clean! also didn't notice a difference in noise levels from vinyl to carpet..its a truck, its gonna be loud and vibrate

In the end I went with vinyl that I purchased from these guys: http://ocautocarpets.com/?gclid=CJ79...FYSe4AodrHUA4w

Upon first inspection - pluses:
the premolding looks dead on to stock, with the right curves the tranny hump, curves up towards the firewall, etc.
The color is almost an exact match as well to my blue vinyle I had in.
It's very thick and came with the insulation that goes under the floor boards where your feet rest.
The vinyl goes all the way back to the back wall of the cab and under the seats, whereas my stock vinyl didn't cover near as much, with only about 6" down the side of the cab from the seat back.
It has no precut holes for seatbealts, drain plugs, shifters, etc. Some would see this as a negative, maybe, but I prefer to cut my own, so that I know they'll fit right and not have any gaps in coverage.

Negatives:
It doesn't have the feaux floor mat lines that the stock vinyl had in the drivers side floor pan.

$150.00 shipped to my door.
