Can you get the timing better by sound? I'm saying that because maybe your timing marks are off. I've heard of the harmonic balancer being spun and showing the timing mark in the wrong place. Forget the timing light for a minute and see if you can get it to run better just playing with it. If not set it back to where you feel good about it.

i've always [heard] that stuff like additives and injector cleaner's and such will actually tend to gum up the system rather than clean it out..

run a can of seafoam through it and see what happens

the jets on my carburetor are partially clogged and i can run a can of sea foam through and help it for a few hours..then its back to being clogged again

are you getting ENOUGH fuel at higher rpms???

could be a fuel line or something PARTIALLY clogged..and at low rpms (or idle-2000) it could be getting enough fuel but get up to highway rpms and it might not be able to get enough fuel??

thats how my carb is kinda..i can slowly bring up the rpms as far as i want to..but if i floor it FAST(and i mean FAST) then it cuts out and sputters...

I've tried timing by listening but it doesn't seem to help. Also It has plenty of fuel pressure in the lines before the injector. Maybe the injector is partially clogged like I said. Sometimes if I'm going up hill my truck will start loosing speed and if I slowly let off of the gas it almost feels like it has a small power surge for a second. So maybe it isn't getting enough fuel at high RPM's?
