Scored on an engine!

So I picked up a complete 22re over the weekend from a guy down in Platte City, MO for 50$ He said he wanted rid of the engine because it had low compression on cyl #4 and he decided to do a SBC swap into his rig.

He informed me that he had the motor built a while back ago. Had the block bored out .20 over, head ported, crane cam, and had keith black pistons. Cyl pressure was low because a bad injector was leaking and rings on cyl #4 never quite seated right.

Well I started digging into the engine to see whats going on and to my surprise everything is adding up to the truth so far.

The funny thing was, when I pulled the VC I found something that made me laugh a little.

Part cost more than what I paid for the whole engine. Kind of made me smile and not feel so bad about making the drive and getting the 22re. So no matter what happens with the engine, I know I can at least get my money back out of it.

Just wanted to share that with you guys.

Holy crap. I never find cool stuff like this. My luck, there would be a wooden pulley on there and a kite string timing chain...

Good score!

Yea man....x2!!!! I never have luck like that. Aftermarket crank and pistons, as well as an LC adjustable cam timing gear....Wow. Good for you. Kind of like falling into a pile and smelling like a rose. That's awesome. Great find.
