Broken Leaf, what to do?
I guess my 1985 worn out leaf springs have worked there last day.
so this is obviously a problem, and need to be fixed because my truck is my DD.
what im wondering is what my options are.
I would hate to do this twice, so i really don't want to hit up a junk yard and get some more wore out springs. I have wanted to eventually go with a lift. but to buy everything all at once is kinda out of the question without borrowing money. so what im wondering is what can be left out at the bare minimum to fix this get some lift and not have to buy springs twice.

broken main leaf is a bad thing. Not totally sure if this would work but you might try a ubolt to clamp down that spring.
Seems to me your only option would be do a junkyard spring to get you by for now...unless you can find a local wheeler who has done a RUF conversion and might have an extra leaf around if they had made a hybrid spring pack, use that to replace your busted main...

yeah, I didn't want to here that option. but i guess its kind of my only one. all good parts on a truck at a junk yard here in southern California are gone with in hours and on there way to mexico. I guess toyota parts are popular there.

'84-'88 pickup/4Runner or '89 4Runner should work, left right are identical. Try http://www.car-part.com/ if you can't find any locally. I just picked up a nice '83 rear spring (spare leaves for my RUF pack) for $50.

well, I have decided to use what money I have do go with Chevy's. I have enough material to fab up everything including shakes, and if i can get both springs for under 100 ill have 63 chevys in there rear. its cheap, it fixes my problem, plus giver me a lift. and the ability to carry more of a load is a plus too.
