Auto to 5spd - front driveshaft problem. PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, went from an auto to a W56 out of an 88 pickup in my 85. I tried putting the 88's front driveshaft on. Didn't fit, too short. Figured maybe there was a difference in length between IFS and SA. Swapped the 85's front driveshaft over to the manual trans. STILL too short.

WTF over? What am I doing wrong. The manual is shorter right? If anything shouldn't my front driveshaft be too long?

Yes. And I put the solid axle front driveshaft back in and it's still too short.

I used the auto cross member if that matters. The manual mount stayed on the trans, and from what I found everyone says that's all that needs swapped.

that is weird because i did an sas and i used the 85 driveshaft that i got with the axle and i worked. needless to say the velocity joint was starting to go bad and finally got to bad so i switched it and put an 87 shaft in which works also for length i just had to grind a little out of where the u joints were hitting to get enough angle out of it

Yeah, so nevermind. The front is a slider. The yoke was so covered it it wouldn't move, lol.
