my 85 extra cab is a 2 piece ..I hate it !! I dont have the funds for a one piece right now though . Does anyone know if a double cardon joint is a must with a 4'' lift ??

I ran 13 inch's of lift with solid shaft and stock joints with no problem. As far as not affording a solid shaft just search the junk yards you can probably pick one up for 50 bucks.

Thanks for the drivehsaft info !!
oh and trust me i search the crap out of the junk yard around here . Its like the workers pick them clean before the trucks even hit the yard .I swear toyota trucks are the hottest thing in the wrecking yard .

Yeah any of the solids will just gotta get one for extended or regular cab. I took mine out a 86 extended and put in my 85 extended and ditched the two piece. Its a direct bolt up.

So the donor truck must be the same body style? Like 84-88 only, the 89-94 body style wouldn't interchange?
And I have yet to find a factory one piece shaft in an extended cab truck in my local yards... Several two pieces, so I snagged a front DC shaft that I was gonna get extended. But if I can find a factory one piece shaft...l

I justed looked at my 2wd and the size looks the same, i bet it will work fine. just call parts store and see if the joints are the same. If so it will work jist swap the front yoke.
