35s with no lift?

Hey guys. I currently have an 86 IFS 4runner with 35x15.5 tires on 15x8 rims and they fit perfect with some cutting. The frame is shot on that truck so I found an original solid axle car that I might buy but I'm wondering if my tires will fit on it.

Do the solid axle trucks have as much clearance as the IFS trucks? Are any of you guys running 35s with no lift?

Thanks!
All help is greatly appreciated!

Yea I'm willing to cut all I need. I'm just worried it will rub on the frame and steering components even without the wheel turned

Well Ill have to show this little gem I guess. 33's with no lift, cut fenders, and adjusted
(not cranked) for those idiots out there who think anybody how touches there t-bars is ruining there truck. But you ask me and id say 33's is about the limit for a comfortable well rounded and functional suspension setup without a lift. Especially when using lockers or wheeling it at all for that matter.

This thing did awesome everywhere.

^^^well I'm already running 35x15.5s on my IFS truck. What I'm wondering is the clearance on the solid axle trucks as good as the IFS trucks?

I agree!! I have the same setup stock SFA no lift and 33x12.50x15's and my baby walks it out in 2wd anywhere! I go through the Sam holes as buddy's with 12 inches high with 40's. on the trails I OWN THEM they just can't hang without smacking the roof with their heads not to mention I got more speed and power! and they all have machined heads cams and headers. once you change that driveshaft to rear diff angle the 22r has to work a lot harder...put it like this every 2 inches of lift or increased tire size requires about %10 more engine work

I have run 33x10.5x15 on stock 40 series land cruiser wheels on my factory solid axled toy 4x4 with stock springs, and I would only rub just a bit in the front; however, when I ran the same wheel/tire combo with 1.5"spacers, the rubbing was way more than expected, and I had wondered if it was nearly equivalent to 12.5" 33s. I think a mild OME lift helps a lot, and while I love seeing stock suspensions and trucks kick but on the trails, a little up travel helps too.

Are we talking about fitting 35's with no lift on an IFS truck or SA truck?

The SFA is 3 " narrower than the with of the 86. Thats why most SAS kits have 1.5" wheel spacers.

Something to consider.
