1985 22r vibration

I have a pickup with the 22r it has developed a vibration that occurs when you give it gas it starts in arround 1000 rpm and continues until around 1800 rpm and then goes away. It will do this when moving in all gears but will also do it when just sitting and you rev it up. the engine runs extremely well idles smooth and has plenty of power. The vibration can be felt in the cab and can be heard also it sounds like a growl type sound. I am concerned that this may be main bearing related but it has no knock sounds at all. it has been doing this for about 500 miles. It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side of the engine bay, Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

motor, tranny, transfer mounts, stiffener plates? check all belts, pullys, and pully bearings. does it do it when you rev with the clutch pedal depressed? if so, I would suspect bottom end or clutch problems. if not suspect cutch or tranny and back.

I will have to check the mounts, It does it with the cluch ingaged or not it sounds the same either way, i had thougt it might be the flywheel or pressure plate may be out of balance.

Angry

Motor mounts seem fine it is a rather violent vibration under the hood when you raise the idle with your hand on any part of the engine or componets you can feel it. it sounds like a growl while holding the rpm steady but then it sounds like something is loose when you let off and it goes back to idle where it sounds like any other 22r I have ever heard before. The thing is this engine runs so good otherwise it starts right up even in the coldest weather cruises fine at all speeds but just has this vibration thing going on. It sounds like it is in the top end of the engine not lower. Can a cracked head cause a problem like this??? I am getting very annoyed with this problem and would hate to throw more money at it with no progress.

Yea I have some other issues with my front end and tires and will be adressing them in a few weeks, but this vibration which could also be described as a Buzz happens also when the vehicle is not moving so it is engine related. It sounds the same weather you push the clutch in or leave it out. I am starting to think maybe it is the pressure plate on the clutch but am not sure I will keep trying to isolate the noise/buzz. Years ago I had changed a clutch and pressure plate in an old chevy and the pressure plate was messed up and caused a bad vibration, but it was worse then this I could not even drive that car until I replaced the assembly. Has anyone else had an issue like this???

You can get some crazy noises and vibes from bad pulley bearings or shredded belts. Did you check those?

no I didn't check those yet I will go thru the whole thing this weekend. I now have some ideas and things to look for I did a quick look at the motor mounts yesterday and they look tight but maybe the isolators are worn out? can you tell by looking or do I need to remove them to check?

Finally figured out what was vibrating it was the shield that goes around the front driveshaft at the transfer case. It is a 2 piece part and the top part had a crack in it about 2/3s of the way around it. I was going to weld it up and reinstall it but then I figured it didn't do much of anything so I just took it off and left it off.
