I took it to around 90-100mph with my 32 ( measured 30.8") tires, it had more in it too. Not willing to try it with my new ones. Plus I don't need a ticket. Fastest I really need to go is around 60-65mph

I know it's hard to believe, and I don't understand this pehnomena either but here it goes. I used to have a 1980 Toyota Pickup with a 22r, stock 4 speed in it, 4.36 factory gears, and 36x12.5" Swampers. It used to accelerate quick, cruise the highway at 70mph but if I wanted to I could push it up to 80 in 3rd gear.
Now I have a 1989 4runner with a 22re, 33x12.5" swampers, welded rear end, and this thing is a total slug compared to the Pickup. I mean seriously, all it can do is 65. Probably a worn out motor though.

How do you know you went 90? I have exectly the same truck just long bed and the speedo only goes to 80. I have pinned it a couple times though and it gets there fast enough. Its kind of a sleeper. You know people look at it and think crappy old two color truck and then they get mad when I can take them. It will smoke the first two gears and third if its wet out, geat fun to drift also...

When I have a tail wind of 50 miles an hour downhill and the planets are aligned right, I can hit around 85! Not quite fast enough for time travel, so that flux capacitor I got awhile back is useless....

Ok, the fastest I've ever gone in my 94 4Runner was 95MPH. I was scared to go too much faster, even though it was a flat straight rural road with no other cars. I just can't imagine how stupid I'd feel if I got pulled over, and probably arrested for going over 100MPH.
I have been tempted to hit the 100MPH mark since then. My 4Runner accelerates pretty good from 65-80, but after 85, it takes forever to go faster.
BTW, I have 4.10's, and 31's and 3.o-yeah.
I try to keep my high speed ventures somewhat limited to sports cars, and the occaisional rental...

Honestly i think the hardest ive pushed the 3.0 is 95, i might have to nail 100 one day just to say i did! Its not a big deal really!
But when im at 95 at 4 something thousand rpms, my only thought is (besides getting pulled over or hitting someone) Now how long before the head gasket is toast? So then i slow it down

I had an 86 pickup that i got up to 110 miles per hour on flat ground with 35's on it. I think it was the gears that mad it go that fast. It had 5:71 gears. I would never buy that tall of gears it came with them.

I don't drive my truck fast, that is what my car is for. Not that the old 82 would go fast even if I wanted to. I am sure 70 is the fastest it has gone in years.

My 81 4x4 with 33s gets bout 60, even with the rebuilt motor. Im gonna regear it tho. The 2000 Tundra 2wheel drive, so far I stopped at 112, switching lanes in all terrrains got kinda squirrley so i slowed down, plus i dont need another ticket.

85mph - gear limited. I could probably squeeze a few more mph out, but without a tach I'm pretty sure I'm near/past redline at 85. Fastest comfortable cruise speed is about 75mph. I don't really need to go any faster, but a 5 speed sure would be nice to keep the RPM's down.

in a knocking 22r, carb problems, no exhaust, no manifold, no oil, no antifreeze, in 4 low hubs unlocked, i managed to get 2 gear floored about 2000 rpm, wouldent go any faster, that was in my 82 on flat ground....
