v6 pinion leaks
i put in some used v6 3rds the front one started leaking at the yoke right away. so i got a new seal and took it apart. i was looking at the yoke and it has a small groove in it, i am guessing it will leak again, are new yokes available or some other fix?

New yokes are available from gear distributors like Just Differentials, East Coast Gear Supply, etc. But you can also get very thin sleeves to fit over the yoke, but that's dependent on application, and I haven't had good luck with them. Some folks have though.
Or you could slightly change the depth of the seal to ride on a different part of the yoke. I've done this before with no problems.
But if the groove is very slight, your new seal may seal it. The old seals get dry and aren't flexible and it starts to leak, whereas a new seal is pliable and can conform better, even if there is a groove.
