ok...i have searched...and searched...and then i even searched some more..does seafoam actually work..and is it worth it to put it into my 20r..its never been rebuilt...it leaks oil out of the front main...valve cover..and oil pan gasket...(which are all getting replaced tomorrow)....and it has some lag on the throttle when u first start it up..like u can punch it and sometimes it will backfire..then kinda cut out for a second then catch up....so would this seafoam help...and if so...where all would add it...all i here talk about are FI engines...not carb'd ones....i think i might should add it into my crank case too...since im changing the gasket..and my oil...and alllll that..thanks for any info

i have used seafoam in 2 of my vehicles. the first one, shortly after all 4 injectors failed. i thought it was coincidence, so i tried it again on my '99 4runner, shortly after my headgasket failed. im not saying seafoam did infact cause this, im just saying i will never use seafoam ever again

I would recommend saving your money. It may work, but I still believe when you have very high mileage, it's the sludge buildup that is helping keep your motor together, and keeping it from leaking. I wouldn't recommend it, but that's just me.
EDIT: I don't see it doing any real harm if you put some in the gas tank, just so long as you don't over do it. I can't recommend putting it into the gas, since I've never done it, but I have used those injector cleaner bottles, and they seem to give my MPG a little boost if it falls off a little bit.

Seafoam in the crankcase only if you have a noisy lifter or something. Seafoam in the gas tank always helps. Seafoam works great for certain applications. But there is no miracle product.
Although if you are changing all of those gaskets, I don't see why you shouldn't try it in the crankcase to clean things up. I have a 22re which had a lifter or something sticking and seafoam and some highway driving took care of it.

just run it... 100% positive results from over 10 cars/trucks ive used it on. I used it in the crankcase and it cleaned up the motor a bit and Ive ran it in the fuel which I dont think is the most effective way to use it and of course i put it straight into the intake to clean the top end. I dont really care if it causes leaks, Ill just fix them
