Need Help with 2rz swap in a 1980 pickup
So ive got a 1980 Std cab pickup, 4wd, 4 inch lift and 33 inch tires.
I got my hands on a 2RZ from a 97 taco and want to know what all I need to do to make it work. Or at least have someone direct me in the right direction as far as the drivetrain goes. I've mainly worked with Chev swaps so I have no idea what I'm doing with this truck.

You've got a lot of reading ahead of you my friend...
To physically fit the motor you're going to have to get creative and make some mounts, or buy Chilkat's (they're well worth it), I have them.
You're going to need the bellhousing off the RZ motor, and find yourself a "W" series transmission to mate it too. Use the RZ flywheel and clutch setup. Be advised these transmissions are a couple inches longer than your stock trans, so you're going to have to rework your driveshafts to boot.
You'll either have to use the entire Tacoma harness, or merge them in some manner. This will likely be your biggest undertaking.. You'll spend more time with this, then any other area of the swap unless your an Electrical Engineer of some sort..
Good luck! I love my 3RZ swap!

I'll have the bell housing and possibly the wiring harness. I'm extremely good with wiring and really patient with it so that shouldn't be a problem. And I can take care of the drivelines no problem. I just have no clue what I'm doing with the transmission situation or the EFI. But I'd really like to figure it out, I love toyota's but I've only dealt with stock replacement and what not. And I see too many 350 swaps rolling around so I'd like to keep it a 4 banger.
Thanks for the info and if you've got anything else please do share.

Until I can get the whole swap read up and figured out I'm going to hold off, You guys have given me a good start so I'll look for the parts and get everything I need before I get into the swap.
I was planning on putting a tube framed flatbed and other goodies on it before I go and mess with motor swaps anyways. I'll be picking up a 22r that only has 70k on it later this week to mate with my reman. 20r head. I just need something to get me on the road for a bit since I just sold my car.
Also, If anyone knows where I can get a top piece for my dash it would be much appreciated, looks like someone to a hammer to mine.
