To be honest, I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about...
The front CV joint is called a Double Cardan:
Only thing my Factory service manual says:
Inspect front propellor Shaft
a) inspect shaft for wear or damage
b) inspect the double Cardan joint for wear or damage
NOTE: if any problem is found, replace the front propeller shaft (page 12-5)
--which sucks because they have 8 pages on driveshafts but no exploded diagrams of the front shaft, only 1 picture and what they said above..
I looked over my latest craigslist find ($35 , looks to be recently rebuild and tighter than crap compared to my old one)--soon to be converted to long travel for the dual
The only thing that resembles a shaft to me would be the U joint bearing caps..
maybe the local driveshaft shop can help....
I really want to order new shafts from either these guys:
http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html
or
http://www.reeldriveline.com/
sorry--probably did not need that stuff but maybe they can figure out what you need

Tricky to get apart. You have to watch that the needle bearings don't fall out of the center during disassembly and reassembly. Use grease to hold them in place for reassembly.

Hey Camo:
Just found this article over on 4x4 wire about clearancing a driveshaft CV.
know it is bit late and maybe you got the shaft fixed but remembered your thread...shows how to get the thing apart:
