Bed replacements?
The bed on my '82 is pretty well beat(dents, dings, and a decent amount of cancer) Where can I get a replacement? I don't mean a stock one but maybe a slightly narrower one that's tougher. I don't want a flat bed though maybe 3/4 sides or something. I can't weld or fabricate so it would need to be a bolt on affair. I've seen a lot of trucks on here with ones similar to what I'm looking for they are just generally more of a flat bed. Any specific place to look?

Something like this with deeper sidewalls and a tailgate.

here is one the same guy built.... i really like the look.
btw, if you ever see this bed let me know because the truck was stolen and the bed was spotted on a white second gen......

Hey Al: was that truck around Portland? How long ago was it stolen? I will keep my eye out for it...and my wife wonders why I am paranoid...
cade01: What you are asking for has to be custom made. There is a guy down in Mt. Angel, Derek (revengerunner on ttora.com) at Revenge fab that does awesome work. I will be having him do a front bumper and internal cage for my Trekker.
He is building this truck for a local wheeler (39.5" Irok's I have tire envy

Robb, it was stolen over 2 years ago. the cab was never found, but supposedly its cut and dumped in the goat mtn area. the axles and springs and tires he got back from the thieves. the flatbed has been seen (have a pic actually) on a white 2nd gen and is supposedly somewhere in the estacada area.
the really crappy part about the whole thing.... the thieves were supposed 'friends' of the guy, live right down the road, and even have a confession from the main punk that stole it (not to mention the parts found under the punks jeepster). and the cops did absolutely nothing!!! no jail time, no fines, nothing. anyway.... the saga is on many boards (pirate, TC, etc), but mainly this one: http://sore4x4.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27
