1980 2wd custom cab dually to 4x4?
dose anyone know where to find info on converting a third gen (79-83) 2wd to 4x4? i dont own the truck yet but only want to get it if its reasonable to convert 4x4.
would using a factory solid axle and mounting aftermarket springs and high steer be possible or is the frame way different?
also what tcase did the wolverines use? im pretty sure it was a divorced one but im curious. but i will probably just get a w56 or w59 with the tcase from the parts yard (pull and save).
whats your thoughts?

wolverine used dana stuff.
In my opinion your best bet if this is actually a project you want to tackle is to pick up a donor 79-83 4WD truck (and traditonally we consider them 1st Gen (as in 1st generation 4WD since they were the 1st factory 4WD aka the son of the lang cruiser)
A donor truck will give you the majority of the junk you will need as far as a front d/s, transmission and t/c
I hope you aren't planning on hauling a ton of weight in this thing..
either way you will more than likely need to run different front and rear wheel combinations, as mentioned you will need to make sure your front and rear pumpkins match.
