Coney Flats and Middle St.Vrain
well Doug and Darci, Lon, and Clay decided to come up north and do a little wheeling. we ran Coney Flats and Middle St.Vrain, then decided to run Carraboo, that was an very easy trail, with a section that was all rutted, and very muddy, after we got throught the mud, then the creek, a new ford explorer pick up thing drove post us, we all looked at each other, thinking whats this guy doing ? lets go watch him get stuck, lol, by the time we got there, he was already stuck, but we got him turned around,
it was a great day, long but a blast, heres a few pics.

Funny you should mention the Ford extraction. I happen to be on Caribou yesterday evening(Sunday) and happened across a very stuck and very stock j**p wrangler in the exact same spot. It was a couple from Boulder who were extremely excited to see me...cause Im pretty sure I was probably the last one through for the night. Decided to make a pass through the trail on the way home from a late day solo outing through the Eldorado Mtn trail. Normally I would just head back to Ned via the gravel road, but I hadnt been on Caribou for a few weeks so i decided to detour before heading home, and it was a good thing. The jeep was sporting NASCAR slicks and no mods. It was very stuck. This spot always gets the stockers and I wouldnt be too surprised if the forest service does some cut and fill in the near future. This isnt the first time I have pulled somebody from this section of muddy ruttedness. I took a few pics but it was completely dark so they didnt turn out so good

Heres the only decent pic...note the fence that has been temporarily removed to accomodate the slippy sliding wrangler. Threw in a couple scenic pics from Eldorado prior to rescue. I do love this area...and so close to home!
