Diesel-powered Custom Land Cruiser Pickup is Our Dream Truck

Fresh from the car show circuit, this wild, auction-bound custom Land Cruiser is ready to earn its keep off-road.
Building a custom vehicle is a journey, a real labor of love. Bringing you vision to life in metal is no small task. As evidenced by the half-finished project cars we regularly find on Craigslist, few have the ability to see their dreams through to completion.
This one-of-a-kind Toyota Land Cruiser on Bring A Trailer is your chance to buy someone else’s completed dream truck. While the previous owner spent countless hours pouring his heart and soul into this creation, you don’t have to lift a finger — except to sign the check. The current bid on this beauty is $76,000 as of this writing.

Of course, if you’re reading YotaTech, that’s not your style at all. You’d much rather build your own dream machine from the ground up. We’re totally with you – we’re on your side 100%. Still, you have to admit that this 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser pickup would be really nice to have in your garage.
Starting life as a ’93 FZJ80, this Land Cruiser was fitted with a pickup body from a 1979 model. To fit the body, the frame had to be lengthened about 20″. The body was painted in Freeborn Red, and festooned with some cool era-appropriate graphics.
Other body accessories include an ARB front bumper and roof rack system, a snorkel, rock sliders, and a custom rear bumper. Potent LED off-road lighting comes courtesy of Rigid Industries. There’s even a camping tent with a ladder for access.

Powering this off-road weapon is a Cummins R2.8 diesel crate engine backed up by a 5-speed manual transmission. The truck rides on 17″ aluminum off-road wheels shod with 33″ Maxxis all-terrain tires.
It’s no surprise that this truck gets attention wherever it goes. It’s been shown at SEMA, finishing in the top 12 of the 2018 “Battle of the Builders” competition. According to the listing, has several magazine features under its belt, too.

Now, it’s ready for the next owner to take it off-road, where it can really show you what it’s made of. Just nothing too crazy – this is a custom-built show truck, after all. Try to keep it right side up, okay?
