Need a cheap laptop...
I'm going to be buying a SMT6 or Split Second FTC in the very near future. Before I can take full advantage of either, I need an inexpensive laptop. I figure I need at least a 333mhz processor and 2-5GB HD. If the HD has been formatted, no problem. I have a copy of Win98.
The cheaper the better. Please post here or PM me with any leads.
Thanks!

It's hard to find an old laptop in decent shape. Most hit the garbage can after 5 years of abuse and have dead batteries.
You can pick up a brand spanking new one for $500 that gets you a 1.5ghz Intel Celleron M and DVD drive. That's probably about $250 more than what you'll pay for a beatup Pentium 2.

Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA all advertised a $499 laptop during their day after christmas sale. I think Best Buy was selling a Toshiba. I was going to get it, but I want something with better battery life - the celeron eats it up.
Did some searching and found a news article on it: http://dealnews.com/articles/75856.html
FOUND ONE via that website above...they list a bunch of current deals: http://officedepot.crossmediaservice...d=-2097389960&

I have something but I'm not sure how good it'll be. It doesn't want to start up so it definitely needs work but it's an old Toshiba Satellite - don't remember the rest.
