Trying to Trouble Shoot CB Issue???

A few months ago I installed the Cobra 75 WX St in my 07 taco. It worked great up to last week, now it wont even turn on. I've spend my moring checking all the connections and everything looks good. It's connected to my battery so it SHOULD work when the car's on or off, but neither works.
Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas, or has dealt with this in the past. Thanks

1)replace the in line fuse with a 5 amp.
2)run a second ground back to the battery

if neither of those work than take it to your loacl CB shop and have them check it out

I would check the fuse, but I wouldn't put a bigger fuse in. That could make something in the CB short before the fuse, negating the whole point of the fuse. Anyways, check the fuse and then trace all the wires.

Did you check to see that there is power the the hot side of the fuse? You can do this with a test light or a multimeter.

Did your unit get pulled on recently? Maybe a connection in either end was compromised by getting over extended?

I have the same unit and Love it!

Good Luck!

if you have power going into the connector in the back (and providing a solid ground as well) then your problem lies inside the radio

Double check the ground, it needs as good of a connection as the hot

Also check your coax, If it has a raw spot it can fry a cb. Have you ever done a SWR check before it went out?

yep we've had cb's at work fry on the diesel trucks when an antenna gets broke and SWR's get high. Another thing i've had happen is if they won't talk or recieve the microphone could be bad.
