dont they operate on a different frequency? i recall seeing this in my alpine manual. did you try looking in the back to see if there's a switch to chagne from the japan to the US standard?

Japan uses a different spectrum than the US. I think they go from 84.00-108.99. I would think they could tune in all the stations in the US between those frequencies, but I've heard it both ways. I had it explained to me one day, but that was a long time ago. They also use the 2nd decimal point, for example; I like a local station X96 - 96.3. they also have the ability to tune in 96.31, 32, 33, 34... etc.
