2nd gen 4runner "hidden sub" ideas?
#61
how much space do you think the first way of doing it had?
do you think that if you had a subwoofer that didnt require much cubic feet that it'd have sounded better?
maybe if you stuffed it with the fiber stuff, would that've helped it?
just brainstorming here
i love the idea of it

Thanks for the links, that place has pretty good prices...i may have look into those guys. I want something that doesn't stick out into the car at all, although by the time i check clearances any 12" may have to..i'll have to see. My OZ BFB are pretty hefty...2 in a standard none ported box was well over 90 lbs. My biggest goal is to go stealth but i want to be able to camp out of the back, so space is a concern. Otherwise i'd rig something up (similar to what i have read about on here) with a removable box and stealth the Amp, etc. with Quick connects and a wire and just remove it when i go camping. But that makes it hard to jam out at the
I really think if i go 10", I'll be going JL audio or Infinity. Both hit very hard for there size. I like being able to jam out if you couldn't tell, and my 07 car came with an Infinity system that i can play distortion free up 85% volume and play basketball with friends of mine 50-100 ft away.
SADLY for me this all has to wait until i with my engine...parts still waiting though, maybe i'll screw around with the dash today....ugh

If you are set on JL and don't want your enclosure in the car at all then I think you are stuck with the JL shallow mount: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?page_id=245
While it is an extremely nice sub, I hope you have the dough to shell out and don't mine cutting your panel cause that bad boy is 13.5". My 10" Clarion hits very hard for being a 10" as well.
I will have no problem jamming out when I go camping. I still have lots of room for gear since I don't have an obnoxiously big sub box and my amps are mounted on the backs of my seats and out of the way. They really wouldn't fit anywhere else. I had thoughts of mounting them behind the other panel but then heat would have become an issue so I opted for the seats.
I am very happy with how mine turned out.

Wow, San Martian, that is pretty tight, certainly unique. IF those teal piped seat covers would have been a touch darker blue and i'd give two thumbs up.
