Talking Modified Marlin Crawler Rear Bumper to Swing Out Tire Carrier

Took my Trekker down to Derek at Revenge Fabrication to do some work.
Here is what he came up with:
Front:

It doesn't stick out too much like some I have seen:

Modified the rear Marlin bumper to a swing out

used a rockstomper hinge kit. May need to run another brace from the pivot point though..Spare is a 33x9.50

That is awesome, does the tailgate of your truck still drop open?

Thats a Trekker, it doesn't have a tailgate. Theres a hatchback that lifts up.

I really like the way the front of that thing looks, simple and rugged. That rear tire carrier is pretty cool too. Too bad it wouldn't work on my 4runner.

that looks amazing. For us 2nd geners, we often like to open our tailgates. Call us crazy. I know yours doesnt open, making your modification 100% ideal for you and you alone. For me, I'd not have the load go onto the bumper, as marlin didnt intend that when he created this piece, and modify the bumper to fit around the stock 90-91 tire carrier, which can be retrofitted to by any 90-95 4runner. All you have to do is chop out part of your trunk, get the quarterpanel support from toyota, find a donor tailgate, find a tire carrier, solve that pesky no-reverse-light problem, and jump through a fiery hoop! Still can be the cheapest and most slick looking way of going about it. Here is my idea for the mod to the bumper itself, however mildly ugly the final product may be:

Thats interesting. But us first gen owners still want to open our tailgates and we can't carry second gen tire carriers!

Really good picture alteration though.

I am putting a marlin crawler bumper on the truck but I think I will build my own for the runner.

Derek just got his website up so you can try contacting him:
Revenge-Fab.com contact Link
I know he would need at least the bumper but seems like it might be kind of hard to do with out the truck being there, just to check for clearance issues.

Both those bumpers look awesome. The front one doesn't stick out too far (that's good). The rear swing assy is really tight to the body.

Both look really good.

i guess im the only one around here that's a fan of a front bumper that sticks out a ways LOL..(i hate stingers though...its stupid to have a piece of tube stick out 3ft in front of ur truck)

my bumper will stick out about 8" or so away from the grille maybe 10"

like the full front bumper replacements for the full size trucks

*EDIT* WTF is up with those lights on top of ur rig!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

you are correct...magnetic lights...have to go on the cab since all the body behind the cab is fiberglass
though since my recent transmission and trashing incident I prefer to put in on a flatbed vs. flat towing

Saw this thread back up on the "New Posts" and I have to say your rig is one of my favorite on all of Yotatech! Heck on any Yota site for that matter!
Nice work.
