na, just being nice and letting him use my truck to get the first one done so he can make more of them to sell! I was going to be the first buyer, but like you said. I won't have any use for it I offered for the buyer to purchase it, but he didn't want to.

Yeah you certainly are right about that, we have made bonus twice in the 3 years I been there, we're on track to do it again, but it's fallen through twice since our last bonus, so I'm not holding my breath.

I've seen yours (bumper that is) and it is nice. Youre fabricator did a great job. Hows it holding up? do you have any complaints or think you would have done somethings different?

I am taking it out this weekend for some abuse.
my side wings are secured with a bar that runs from the inside of the "wing" to the frame rail. I have a bolt that attaches the bar to the wing. My only concern is the bolt head protruding and contacting the wheel.
this differs from SS3's desingn. i believe his wings are secured to the underside of the bumper/frame. I might have to make another change.

Well, if it makes you feel any better my wings are also secured to the frame too. I havent had any issues with them at all. I think they are in a great spot to prevent damage from a rock or anything else.
I am going to put it to the test next week in Tellico. I'll post pics of how it turns out then

One thing, one the 3rd gen, the factory bumper has a bracket that sits around the spare tire. This aids in keeping the tire secure. I no longer have this bracket and the tire sits on the two "stops" and the underside of the bumper. This is causing the tire to bounce a bit over certain bumps. No big deal , just annoying. It is an easy fix, but something to take in consideration.
Can't wait to see more bumpers

just been watching the thread from the side lines...AWESOME WORK MIKE!!
Seaflea or Mike, any pics on how/where the side wing brackets attach to frame & bumper? Can mud flaps be fastened to them for street use or no - wondering how far back they are from the tire.

Mud flaps can be used. They actually stay in the same location and aren't affected at all. the side wings are attaced to the frame using square tube. they attach to existing holes and are about 4" from the end of the wing I think. Sorry no pics, Mike may have some. We realy tested it out this last weekend at Tellico, It got beat really hard and came out with only minor scratches. I did manage to break one of the lights in it though. I think that was from shear shock of the rocks because there was no visible damage to the bumper. I also towed a 10' trailer up there (10 hours) with no problems at all. His bumpers are definately bullet proof!
Mike should be posting some pics of it soon.

Well, my bumpers have now been tellico tested and passed with flying colors. Will(Seaflea) beat the hell out of the one I built for his 1st gen. He hit it so hard on the rocks that it busted one of the lights, but no damage to the truck or the bumper.
Didn't even treak it even after dropping the entire weight of the vehical on one of the D-rings with the clevis mount taking all the force.
And still towed a 1000 pound trailer 6hours home.
