Trail-Gear

After two weeks without a new product launch Trail-Gear is back on the scene with nine new or updated products released Friday, July 6, 2012. Among the new products are Brake Hats, Brake Rotors, Brake Calipers, Brake Pads, a Rock Assault™ Brake Kit, Trail Spikes and apparel items. We have also updated our Rock Assault™ Roller kit to include the new brake offerings.

Trail-Gear is now offering a full line of brake components designed for, but not limited to, use with their Rock Assault™ 9 Axle Housings. The Brake Hats feature Trail-Gear’s signature strength and quality. They are made from 6061 T6 aluminum and anodized in Trail-Gear’s signature Burnt Orange. They are machined to fit on both 6 on 5½” and 5 on 5½” wheel lug patterns. The Brake Rotors are 14” diameter, 3/8” thick steel rotors. They have been finished with a nitrate surface treatment for corrosion resistance. The Brake Calipers are Wilwood Forged Dynalite 4-Piston Brake Calipers. They are the same calipers that are used on the Trail-Gear Racing Team’s extreme Rock Crawling competition vehicle. They feature stainless steel bridge plates, high temperature seals and stainless steel pistons. The special design of the calipers allows them to be mounted in any front, rear, right or left position. The final component is the Type E Polymatrix brake caliper pads. They have been specifically designed for use with the Wilwood 4-piston calipers.

Interested parties can purchase all four components in the Rock Assault™ Fully Loaded Brake Kit which was also released Friday. The kit includes two of each of the four items listed above in addition to TG’s Brake Caliper Mount Kit and all necessary installation hardware. Trail-Gear also updated our Rock Assault™ 9 Roller Kit to include the Fully Loaded Brake Kit.

In addition to the braking items, Trail-Gear has launched Trail Spikes, custom tube work end caps, as well as, two apparel items. Trail Spikes are 2-inch solid steel cones that can be welded onto any 1 ¾” x .120 wall steel tubing in place of an end cap. They are sold in pairs. Trail-Gear added hats and gloves to their apparel line Friday. The hats are flat-bill style with Trail-Gear’s TG embroidered in 3D style bubble embroidery as well as screen-printed on the back. They feature a Velcro-closure for an easily adjustable and comfortable fit. The gloves are made with tough, breathable and washable microfiber suede Armor Skin™ on palms and high-wear areas. They feature a specially engineered stretch back, a neoprene knuckle area, pre-curved finger design and elastic with Velcro closure at wrist for secure fit.

All design and development for the products and kits were done at Trail-Gear, Inc. in Fresno, California. The components of the kits have undergone exhaustive materials testing. Trail-Gear routinely tests their products at some of the world’s hardest courses, such as “The Hammers” in Johnson Valley, California and the Rubicon Trail in Lake Tahoe, California.
