I have never seen a fender flare ripped off. The thing I have seen that makes me nervous about flares though is that I had some (not cut offs obviously) on my truck when I bought it and they filled up with mud and started to rust out my fenders, not to metion the nice lines they wore in the paint around my fenders from rubbing.

Wow 88 toy, You are a carbon copy of me! I want to get rid of my 3inch body lift and Iam also trying to figure out what lift to run. I have 33 inch cooper stt's on mine and I am at a complete loss as to what Lift I should run. Iam leaning twords the BJ Spacers but I dont want to cut the upper control arm. Can you run 33's stock? By the way I have a black 88 too..

It's been a while, but I just found a good deal on a 4" pro comp. First does anybody have, an opinion on this kit, second has anybody installed one. I looked for installation instruction but I couldn't find any. Does it require any welding or cutting?

I think there is one thing that you have to cut, not sure.
I heard some people say they will weld the parts of the brackets together to help make it stronger.

Skip the PRO-Crap kit... seriously, an 88 Toyota can fit 33x10.50's on stock rims... ANd, frankly, they skinnier tyhe tire the better it is all around on the trail IMO. You've already got gears, and you've got some 33's (although too wide for my taste...)
Here's my truck BEFORE...with the typical Saggy butt... Seriously, did some disgruntled metal worker PISS IN THE VAT OF STEEL Toyota made their springs out of for years????
Here's my truck with NO t-bar crank, BJ spacer, and OME springs in the rear giving me about 2.5in in the back and about 2.0in in the front for a slightly raked look when un-loaded, but I suspect that the OME's will settle over time.
I'll tell you this, the OME springs and shocks (I know they're not THE best but they are nice shocks) went a LONG way to making this truck ride and wheel better. they flex well out on the trail, they handle loads well on the road, and combined with the added fluid capacity of the shocks, they handle rough roads well...
I love how my rig LOOKS and it handles pretty good for a lifted 4x4... Hardest part is that if and when I DO SAS the thing I don't want it to be any taller... trust me, a low lift truck on big tires with good articulation witll walk all over these rigs you see with 8in of lift to clear 35's...
So my vote...
spend the oney on some nice rear springs (SKIP THE AAL'S or Rought country Garbage springs) and get some BJ spacers along with some OME T-bars and you'll have a nice 2.5 in of lift all around that actualy does improve your truck... it'll LOWER IT wich is really important when you get more into wheeling, AND make it ride better (the AAL's end up maiing the rear end REAL stiff adn can cause the old springs to break...guess how I know )
OR just SAS the thing if you really WANT to spend over 1000 dollars... My set-up cost me around 600 all in plus a saturday/sunday of playing Lego's with my truck...pretty much fun for me
