t-case q thats driving me nuts (quick help please)
I just replaced the output bearing on the tcase and when I pulled the little output housing it dumped about 2.5 quarts of oil.(this struck me as weird bc I didnt think there would be fluid that high in the tcase) I figured oh well Ill just put it back in when im done. So I pull the fill nut in the middle of the back of the case and oil comes out, and it is full. So I turn on the truck and put it in drive and 4low (no rear drive shaft and manual hubs) and let the case spin alittle to maybe move the fluid around, I check it and its stil full. AM I MISSING SOMETHING or is my tcase reproducing fluid, or am I a total moron,(It took me about 4 hours before I could swallow my pride and post this)

yeah, but your xf case holds two quarts and the trans holds 16.
half-quart less in the trans finds it's way into the xf case, and the trans would still appear to be full and the xf case would appear to manufacturing it's own lube...

dunno. how long have you owned it? do you know for sure that the PO didn't keep adding to the trans as it leaked into the XF case until the XF case was full?
when was the last time either had fresh fluid?
that's where the extra came from - the trans output shaft seal is leaking into the xf case. don't beat yourself up trying to figure out the details...

HMMM you could be right I used to have to top off the trans every one in a while (no big deal) But havent for a long time. So im guessing when the tcase was full the trans fluid remained full, and Now I bet the trans will begin to drain (about 3 quarts lol)...
I guess there is no problrm with running a tcase full of fluid?!
