Building my own tire gate!
I have an 87 4runner I am building a tire gate for... I need a little inspiration here. I have a few ideas but would love to see some pics of what you guys have on your rigs! I also will be running 2, 5 gal jerry cans on the tire gate! thanks guys!

do an image search here on YT and on Google for tire swingouts.
are you putting the swingout on the body or on a bumper? if it's on the body, then make sure you brace the quarter panel on the inside very well - that's a lot of weight to try and cantilever off of thin sheet metal, and have it stay attached when you take it down a trail.

nah man, I will be building a simple 4" square tube bumper with shackles attached and mounting the tire gate to that with a custom swing arm hinge I found that will withstand 2000 lbs. I figure that will be my best bet as far as security. thanks tho!
