315/75/16 3rd gen ?
I am getting new tires soon and replacing the 305/70/16 and thinking about getting 315/75/16 (35's) . Who has been running this size tire for a while on a 3rd gen and how is your front end holding up? Any problem I should expect to run into. I am not worried about clearing them I am just want my ifs and steering to hold up.

I was most worried about the steering rack holding up. I new a couple of guys where running 35's with just basic sus lift and bl. I just wonder how every thing was holding up. I guess if it has held up to these heavy mtr it should be fine with at or less aggressive mt.

Do you wheel rocks, hard with a locker? Then the rack will be fine.
For as much as people bag on that steering, it kicks the piss out of mine on the torsion bar IFS.
Schaefer didn't swap because he was breaking, he swapped because he could.

you should be just fine, but you might have to trim a little bit around the pinchweld, and also consider a drop panhard bar, maybe ATS arms, but these are just possabilities

I have 35x12.5r17 BFG MT. I bought Walker Evans Beadlock 17x8.5 rims which can be custom cut to any backspacing. I wanted to have my tires tucked in as close as possible without rubbing on the frame while turning so after carefull measuring and discussion with forum members I went with 4" BS. With my 4" BS rims the tire just clears the frame at full steering lock by 1/16" under suspension compression.

Don't have any current pics. The 4Runner is under major construction right now. I'll post some as soon as its presentable.
I really like the kings on all 4 corners. I do a fair amount of desert driving and they really eat up the bumps.
