I think the only draw backs would be cost, weight, then width. I like them better under a full size truck.

I would SAS with toy axles and not rockwells, but truth be told it looks pretty cool to see rockwells or portals under anything!

I f i had to build another mud toy due to sellin my sami, I would take my 93 DD yota and solid axle it on 38 inch stractor tires. anything and everything is made for a yota. they have the power to weight ratio over 99% of off road vehicles. But rocks still are cool. I just cant afford what is needed to make them worth while i guess lol

Those atomic axles seem easy to build ?

It's just an empty housing with whatever 3rd member you wanted to put in ... cut the hole and tap the bolts ...

get cv axles custom made?

i mean, there is probably more to it.. but in no way is that worth $9000 each ...

by the time u get done (and money spent) swapping out for rockwells, you will be pissed you didnt just import a volvo c300 with portals or just buy a unimog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwyeYG2EoiE
(which is for sale, found locally on cl)

a toyota is a toyota, stop tryin to make it somethin its not.... 85 straight axle 5.29:1 with longfields will push 39-40" tires... all u need
