Tranny Cooler question
I'm thinking of installing a tranny cooler on my T100. I've seen prices from draw-tite and u-haul for $49.95 up to $250.00 (other brands). I don't tow anything, just haul around a bunch of kayaks on the roof (lots of wind resistance). Also, if I'm 4-wheeln', its usually just crawling, nothing heavy. Any thoughts on what I really need, how hard is the installation?
thanks

Hey fellow Boulder guy.
I just put a TRD cooler on my 4runner and it seems to be doing well; my 4runner is supercharged so I thought I should add the cooler. If you do a search on this site for "tranny cooler" you should get a few ideas of what others have used. I think the TRD is the same as someother types but just more expensive (I had already bought it when I found that out).
As for the install, it took me about 2 hours, but that's because TRD didn't have the bolt lineup right for my 4runner (I have no idea why). The lines are easy to run and the overall intallation is a breeze. There's pretty good write up in the tech section of this site too.

I've got a TRD cooler on my 4Runner - been very happy with it. However, by all accounts, the Hayden coolers are just as good (if not the same thing, just under a different label). The hayden coolers go for about $50, while the TRD cooler is $150+. Search the boards for more info - it's been discussed quite a bit.
