I have recently supercharged my 95 4WD T-100. It is pulling about 7 psi of boost. i have found a smaller pulley made for the supercharger that is suppose to let you pull about 9 psi of boost. But the owners manual for the supercharger says do not change the pulley size. Anyone know if it is going to hurt anything to go to a smaller pulley?

You will have to upgrade your fuel system if you change to that pulley. Most have to upgrade with the stock pulley because of pinging problems. Without fuel upgades you will have pinging and possible detonation

Hey supercharged, which supercharger did you bolt on to your 3.4L V6? I asked my local dealer about this and he didn't have a TRD supercharger that would fit my 95 3.4L V6 -- he indicated it was something to do with the engine managment computer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you're running a S/C without any type of fuel mods, 90% of the time you're asking for an engine rebuild due to a hole in a piston. Yes, you can run a smaller pulley, but you need to read up from both of those sites first, and here on YT as well. You've got some work to do before getting anywhere near the nut on that shaft.

Hey man i made this thread a while back and i have checked into those sites.. and by the way yes it is good to get a fuel upgrade but you dont have to. Its not 90% of the time your asking for a rebuild.. not with a TRD S/C anyways.. TRD made it so it would bolt up with no other upgrades needed just for some extra power.. your not goin to be looking forward to a rebuilt unless you put a S/C on made by someone else..

95T1004WD- i have the 3rd gen. supercharger (grey). Everyone says you can't put it on a 95 or 96 model but they are wrong. The only thing i ran into was it makes the check engine light stay on.. if you get an computer from a 97 or 98.. you will have the same performance but the light will not come on.. other than that everything was fine..

I know that I thought the same way, until I started pinging like an SOB. I run a piggyback and was able to deal with the timing issue, but the fuel issue was tough. I foudn that I could handle the leanout with the stock fuel pump, but I had the injector timing maxed out to do so. I ended up putting in a Walbro 160 to give me some tuning room (but I'm still running the stock injectors).


Keep an eye on it... Just 'cause you don't hear the ping doesn't mean that you're not having trouble.

Are you running any gauges to watch for trouble? Did you deal with stiffening up the clutch at all?
