FJ40 general questions

What year ranges (60s and 70s) correspond to the 4-cylinder engines and what year ranges correspond to the inline-6 engine? also, what year ranges have the tail gate and what year ranges have the doors? how much did yall pay for your FJ40s and what condition did you get them in? Thanks!

AFAIK, Landcruisers were always the F-series inline-six until V8's became available in the late 90's. I shudder to think of a Cruiser with 4-banger power.

The only 4 cylinder was a diesel and never in the US. I don't think there was specific years set in stone for the tail gate or doors. If you ordered a soft top it came with a tail gate. I would venture to guess 74 was the first year of the ambulance doors.

10 years ago I think I paid $5500 for mine, nice body, frame, stock hubcaps and all. I would say it was in very nice shape for a Canadian truck.
