While at my local junkyard here in Okinawa yesterday I came across a set of (4) 35x12.50R16.5 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains KM w/ rims for $1000 obo. 2 have only a few hundred miles and the other 2 have a couple thousand miles on them. These look like they will fit my 80, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any information on tire fitment for an 80 series Landcruiser? And, Are these worth the price?

you'll probably need around 3-4" of lift to fit those meats.

Oh wait, 16.5 rims? I've only seen those on 1-ton trucks...

Can you get the tires with out the rims? o would be interested in price if you could and yea I have 4" of lift and still get a bit of rubbing now and then at full lock left and right

Yup, I would stay away from 16.5's.
The have no inner bead retention lip.

There are some tricks to fixing that problem, there's a thread on Pirate 4x4 somewhere on it.

Regardless, there is a limited selection of tires available for that sized wheel and they are more expensive than 15's or 16's.

Why would anyone want 16.5's ?
That's just plain silly.

also 16.5 isnt a common size compared to 15 or 16. why not make it easy on yourself?

He's already found the tires though, and there is a fine selection of off-road tires in 16.5.

I have decided against buying the set because of the 16.5 in. rim and because of the fugly wheels. I want a good offroad tire, but something I can drive on the pavement whether wet or dry, so I was thinking about the Interco Trxus M/T's in either a 34 or 35 12.5 on a 16 in. rim. I see people here (Americans) running them on their Surf or 70 series without any problems. Does anyone have any experience with Trxus M/T's??

If you can find a set of H1 beadlock wheels and have the centers changed to match your rig it would be a good find.
