For the sake of keeping this thing alive in case anyone is reading.....a couple of quick updates.
We are all signed up to race the HDRA Mirage 300 next month. The truck has had a few changes, gone through a few test sessions, and now it's down to final prep for race time. Looking forward to getting back in it again!

And just like that, we're not racing it in 2 weeks now thanks to the promoter canceling the race on us! Instead our next event now will be mid Oct where we'll participate in a Make A Wish event giving kids rides in the race truck! Nice thing is, the truck is fully prepped now and ready to rock and I doubt we'll be hammering it hard with kids riding shot gun so it should come home in great shape for whatever is next for it. We have a video shoot to do with it after the Make A Wish event.

I'm not 100% sure but I swear I've seen some above the shackle pivot setups with the bed still in place and not cut up or modified. maybe I'm dreaming but I swore it's been done...
And technically, he have done one race so far with it...

BTW, if anyone is interested... The truck is on the cover of the current issue of "off-road magazine" with a full build article inside.

I did some above frame shackle pivots on a tacoma without cutting the bed. No body lift. You have to pivot mount pretty close to the frame rail, but we did box the c channel frame in the area of the shackle for extra strength.
