Nice build, Stick with it, taking your time to do things right makes things go easier if your not in a rush "cause you have to work" or this or that. I have had ALL my componets for my SAS sitting in my garage for about 1 year now, simply because I DD my runner and don't fell like rushing through it to get it back on the road. Now I am getting a 90 runner that I will DD while I do my SAS!
P.S. I run the trails with ya 2wd 4wd whatever, most places have go arounds and if not, winches and straps! Keep it up man, Nevermind the nay sayers!

Thanks bud, I appreciate the kind words. I'm with you on that one, do it right the first time, pays off in the long run! The SAS will come but I just want to be financially sound before jumping into something like that. I may start buying parts later this year/first of next, but it will be a while before anything happens... I collected parts for the 4x4 conversion for close to a year. When my 2wd tranny took a ˟˟˟˟ is when I went ahead and put the 4x4 tranny in and got the move on with the project. This tranny has close to 200K on it, so probably when it croaks is when I will adapt it to a right hand/gear driven case and get the ball rolling on the SAS.

I got part of my interior LED conversion done. The dash went pretty well, the dome/map lights weren't too bad either, and after finally getting the AC panel out I found out I had the wrong bulb... I got the right ones on the way.

I was able to finish up the LED conversion today with the AC panel... I'm pleased with how it turned out.
I also ordered a customized switch from 12voltguy.com to control my winch. I will go where my factory clock is... it should be here in about 2-3 weeks.

Things are going to get very interresting this summer. I just traded a 7mag for a 82 complete front axle, 23 spline transfer case and a front drive shaft and got $500 cash to boot
Here in a couple weeks I am going to order my Inchworm adaptor, speedometer gear and 4.7 chromo transfer case gears
It's going to take several months to get everything lined up, but it's going to good here in about 4-6 months...

Took the time to lay out the full build and this is a worse case scenario. I talked to Damion at MOBS Fab, he is able to get Trail-Gear at a discount since he is set up as a dealer. He has used my truck before to show off the bumpers, so I am hoping he can cut me the same deal with the SAS as long as I let him take it to shows.

Picked up a little something something this evening... still needs to be cleaned up, and I also found out he was wrong, it's a 21 spline case.
As soon as tax money comes in, gears for case and diff will be ordered along with the transfer case adapter. I'm going to covert the front end back to 2wd for a while and go ahead and sell off all of that.

Got some inspiration today by riding around with my buddy in his newly SASed 4runner. It turned out pretty good and it should be interesting to see what it will do offroad.
Got the case out and cleaned it off as much as I could/wanted to. Not perfect but better than it was... I used some B52 degreaser, that stuff is awesome!
There have also been a few changes as far as plans go... The Trail-Gear kit has a lot of crap that go along with it, plus having to re-do the front and rear bumpers... So I'm just focused on getting the front done before Memorial Day, we have a group going wheeling/camping at URE. I have already ordered the Tacoma adapter, 4.7 case gears, 4.56 diff gears/bearing kit, and a new long spline drive shaft with the creeper joint. They will be in tomorrow (wednesday), I still have to order the Spartan locker though...
The new plan is a 3-link up front. I'm going to be running 12in Fox coilovers, I'm still working on what spring setup to run... Going to use Trail-Gears high steer kit with their six-shooter knuckles, Creeper joints on the links, axle guard and trusses, full axle rebuild kit, power steering adapters, steering link adapter and going to use Trail-Gears link brackets on the axle and run a custom crossmember for the back. I'm going to get the oil pan parts from toyota.
For the rear I will eventually do All Pro (or something to that nature) leafs, u-bolt flip kit, brake lines, bump stops, shock relocation and Fox shocks on the rear.

Wow. Your truck is awesome. I always wanted a prerunner but never went through with it due to the fact that it was 2wd. Instead I got my current 1989 4runner that I started working on this past month. I can't wait to build it up kick ass like other runners on the site
But man I give you major props. Your truck is everything I dreamed of on a prerunner. Kick ass truck. And keep up the awesome work.
