I use it in both, on every car i have/had.
And i see a prety consistan ~1mpg increase in MPG, and the engine seems to run smother. Personally i love the stuff.

Tex- thanks for the input. I have 145K miles on my Runner and I'm sure it needs some of the trash blown out of the engine. The zMax guys were on Trucks or some show that was showing their lab and what zMax ca do for your engine/transmission. Gonna give it a try.
To the other guy increasing his post count.

zmax is a scam. The FTC even took them to court:

Here's a quote from that link:
I would expect zmax to be sold here:

Here's a quote from that link:
In February/March 1997, an independent laboratory performed two CRC L38 tests of zMax for Speedway and Oil Chem. In those tests, motor oil treated with zMax produced more than twice as much bearing corrosion as motor oil alone.

now it's zMax, before it was DuraLube & before that ??? too many to remember. Does anyone remember Arco Graphite? Most oil additives at best do nothing, at worst cause engine damage. If there were a miracle additive don't you think the BIG OIL Co's would be touting them? The only additive I use is an occasional fuel system cleaner, and I'm suspect even of that. If you try it, good luck & let us know.

Interesting link there, i will have to rethink my using it.
Though my results were real, but then when i changed to using zmax i also changed the oil to Mobile 1, so i guess mobile 1 could have been the thing that really made the differnce.

Interesting link from the FTC about Z-Max. Makes you wonder why this stuff is still on the shelves for people to buy, just like Slick 50 with Teflon. Nasa, GM and Briggs & Straton all did independent testing on products that contain Teflon for use in internal combustion engines; that stuff ended up causing more problems then doing anything good. Just use engine oil only.
I still think Motor Up had the best infomercial, anybody remember that and that guy in the junkyard with no teeth and could barely say anything with out getting bleeped out cause he cursed so much? Thats funny.

"Jon D'Azzo received 55 more HP after installing The Turbonator. A Vortech Supercharger kit for a 2004 Mustang that produces 155 HP boost costs $5,139.95 (plus installation costs). The Price/Performance ratio is $5,139.95/155HP = $33.16/HP. It costs $33.16 for every one horsepower it produces. Some of the people in above tests have attained as many as 55, ten times more horsepower per dollar than any turbocharger or supercharger. * "
Our automotive OE (original equipment) replacement air filters generally add 1-4 horsepower.
They're all the same crap.

I didn't know metal was absorbent
if you want to learn about oil, this seems to be a good source

X2. you will also learn that M1 is overrated lol.. you will also learn that 98% of the marketing out there is crap. like most motor cleaners, zmax and etc.. buy good oil, change it like you should and you should NEVER have to have a motor clean product EVER.. injectors is a different story. i use the following and thats it!
GM top end cleaner
BG's44K for the fuel tank
seafoam if GM isnt available (GM is much stronger product)
techron if BG's isnt available.
thats pretty much it.

these knuckleheads can still make claims
lubes engine
restores power
...blah blah blah
but what are they comparing it to ? sand ? well, yes in fact
it does lube better than sand....
as long as the claims are not straight out wrong, they can make a fancy
package and claim all this crap (with disclaimers) and get suckers to buy
the stuff.
anything promoted by a racetrack owner ? that doesn't give it any credibility whatsoever. most track owners are the shiftiest bastards you ever met

I've tried a *few* of these things before. Used Rislone for a while, that actually seemed to make oil consumption worse, like it evaporated out of the crankcase at operating temps. Never tried Z-max or whatever, and really never fell for the old Slick50 when it came out either.
Just get a good name brand oil from the parts store and keep it changed. If you don't believe that's all it takes, I got a 400K miles original engine that says otherwise.
The only other thing I do is use a can of Berryman's in the gas tank at each oil change. Don't know if anyone else uses it, but it's always been good to me.
