yet again another lc coils question

i found someone selling used lc coils. however according to him, due to the load rating difference between the left and the right (gas tank compensation) he is selling them as a pair of lefts and a pair of rights. otherwise he says the 4runner will lean if one uses the left/right set. does that make any sense to you guys out there?

Yeah, there is usually a left and a right spring. You can tell the difference just by measuring them side by side. The longer spring will go on the side of the gas tank, so our drivers side.

that's what i was thinking, but this guy on ebay was selling 2 left coils as a set and in another listing selling 2 right coils as a set. i tried talking the guy into selling them as a proper set but he is convinced that they needed t obe sold his way. oh well. needless to say, no one bidded on them.

I just put them on my '02. Trust me, you'll want a matched pair instead of a mismatched ebay set or something from the junkyard that's already off the vehicle. Do a LC coil part number search and order a new set from toyotapartssales.com for $120. Then you know you're getting the exact part number you need.

IIRC the my drivers coil measured 19.75" and the passenger 19.5". Good luck.
