actually after looking at the pix from kronicx, it looks like you can still add sliders

You just have to go around it that's all...

if you look closely the hose is not mounted to the frame but clipped which means you can still weld around it and not disturb the lines itself.

there's always a way around everything!!!! that's why it's called custom!

then again, most people usually upgrade by lifting first before even thinking about sliders though! (some crazy people like me do it in a different order! hehe).

if you have x-reas and plan to lift, x-reas will not be used so all those hardware can come off anyway! then the sliders can definitely go on! they just have to make sure they keep the hardware so they can reinstall it if they plan to sell the 4runner!!

I don' t see any reason you can't have sliders, the line isn't even a hard line. All you have to do is move it.

With the X-Reas do you have to change the fluid, how does that work or is it lifetime stuff, not like it is really wearin out just being transfered from one side to the other

It's highly unlikely that you'll have the change any fluids for the x-reas system.

the only time i'd say you might is if you're changing or replacing an existing part of the integrated system... but that'd only happen if the dealer says it needs replacing...

First you should not be welding anything to the frame. There are a lot of reasons for this, but to put it simply you should not do it.

I can install and remove my sliders in about 5 minutes a side with no permenat modifications to the truck at all. Mine use U Clamps and simply slide up and cup the frame and then a bolt goes through an existing hole in the frame to hole the sliders on the truck.

You can do the very same thing to the 03 runners and not bother that X reas stuff at all. Then later if you decide to trade or sell the truck the sliders come right off and no one knows they were there.

yup you're right actually. The only problem with the 03's are on the driver side, there's no room at all to be able to bolt/nut the backside in. the darn gastank is unfortunately right up to the inner side of the frame...grr

jason at demello and i discussed options on what we can do to see what the best option was. we knew that welding was always an option but we wanted to see if bolting would be possible... the passenger side has relatively plenty of room so that wasn't an issue but the driver side ran into alot of problems. anyway long story short, i just got mine welded... since i knew going into it, this was a 4runner i was gonna keep for yrs! (10 yrs atleast)....

as for the xreas stuff, so long as you can just go around the cables, it shouldn't be an issue by examining the pix that kronicx provided, the hoses are not a permanent mount but rather a clip on mount. so x-reas shouldn't have any issues there.

i'd wish i had gotten mine bolted but no biggie... i'm happy it's on atleast

There is a clearence problem with the gas tank on the 3rd gen also. On the mount where the gas tank is a thick plate was used on the back side and that plate's hole was treaded for the bolt. The bolt is sized so it ends up flush with the plate side when tightened down.

To install it the gas take has to be supported on a floor jack and the its mounts released and then slid slightly out of the way until the slider bar is moved up on the frame and bolted in place then the tank can be remounted.

I am certain the same thing will work on the 03, well I hope anyway.
