Is this worth doing?
Hey everyone i got a 1990 4 runner v6, automatic transmission, 4wd, 3vze engine. Will it be worth putting a super charger on my car with 155k. I already got a k and n intake and a high performance muffler.

well if people really want a supercharger for the 3.0 it can be done.
camden makes them for the 22R and 22RE and are in the processes of finishing up making the EFI one...
http://www.camdensuperchargers.com/index.php?pag=401
i was told by the guy who is being the mock up for the EFI 22 that if there is 10 or more people who would do a group buy or whatever you would wanna call it, that they would develope a supercharger for the 3.0
but you're lookin at a few thousand dollars there. i think i'll just wait till my engine dies and do a supra swap

It depends on the amount of money you have and the time it can be down.
I suspect that you dont really have much of either, and you not being familiar with the 3.0 dont realize that it would take quite a bit of both to do what you want. I learned the hard way that with whats easy to get as far as performance parts for the 3.0 really wont do a lot. There are several threads on here from some who are working on using different heads and such, but they also know a lot more that I do about these engines. Plus, more power puts a lot more stress on engine parts that would fail due to the mileage. If you are as I suspect you are, keep it as is, have fun with it and use the money for something else. Learn from my very pricey mistake and use the money elsewhere.

I just think if you put a super charger on it will turn into a money pit so unless you really think you have the know how I would just drive it and hope you dont get a burnt valve or blown head gasket, then if you find a good deal try to get a 3.4 in that beast or sell it and get a newer one with a 3.4.

Ok. thanks a lot. Turning off O/D helped when going up the hill so i will keep it as it is.
Do you think it will be worth to put a 2 in. lift on my car with 155k.

Why do you guys keep saying that? They don't make them anymore, but they certainly *did* sell superchargers for the 3.0 long before the 3.4 came out. Every once in a while one comes up, a dealer sold a couple of new old stock ones about a year ago on ebay.
But, now I agree that it's not a very good idea, at least unless you do a lot of other things too.

Is it worth what? Why do you want a lift? To look cool? To fit larger tires? What kind of 2" lift? Can you install it yourself?
Need answers please!
Oh....and what's this "car" you speak of? I've never heard of putting a lift on a "car".

traditional N/A engine performance modifications will always help.
Air filter
7mge AFM
headers
P/P head/manifolds
good spark plugs
The primary restriction on this motor is the stock manifold and exhaust. Put some headers and a new exhaust on.
