Why is it that no one makes a set of tube doors for a 3rd gen 4runner.

I see people commenting all the time that they would love to buy a set.

Is there anything that makes it any harder to fab than say a set for a 2nd gen.

To all the vendors!!!!!

Please build tube doors for the 3rd gen 4Runner.

I can't remember for sure if the 2nd gens have speakers on the doors or not but 3rd gens do on both front and rear. There would be a lot of electrical stuff you would have to modify to easily take your doors off with the fronts being the trickiest. It's definitely doable, cus I've seen it, but its not nearly as easy as the 1st and 2nd gens.

my second gen had speakers in the doors...they dont work but they are there

I talked to a dude in the local area. There are manufactured water-proof electrical connections you could splice into the harness running to the doors. The 3rd Gen front doors have a bunch of wires, specially the driver's door. Its definitely do-able, and I wouldn't mind Tube Doors for the summer time, as long as they put a spot for some side view mirrors to attach so I don't get pulled over for looking even more illegal than I already do in the great state of Washington!

They're not too hard, just gotta figure out a way to make some quick disconnect hinges for both the tube doors and the regular doors. Ive been meaning to make myself a pair for a weekend project. A few people on this site have done it

When it comes to being made commercially, as far as I know you are correct, nobody makes them. Just find a local fab shop to make some exactly the way you want them.

Because 3rd gen 4unners & Tacoma's are still too new and there's not enough demand. Sucks but it's not gonna happen anytime soon if ever.

If I end up keeping the truck we will be making tube doors for it in a few months. If we can get a decent prototype I may be able to replicate the parts and send them out as a kit or possibly complete. Won't be trying to do too many since we'll be installing the sfa at the same time. Will keep this thread updated.

Same reason you don't find many vendors selling tube doors for anything post 95, not enough demand...yet. Plus with the new models having more wires to disconnect etc its more of a pain for the owner as well.

Its 2 plugs per door, which are very easy to get too.

It's simple Econ 101 guys. No demand thus no supply. 3rd gens for the most part are too nice still to trail ride. Give it 5 years or less.

Not always true. Some products are able to cultivate their own demand by simply offering it first. Rear access ladders were a good example and I have a feeling this would have a similar effect.

I actually have a hard time finding products for older trucks nowadays. 3rd gen 4Runners have tons of forms of lift, front and rear bumper selections, and interior and exterior mods.

Rear access ladders? For what vehicle?

Anything tube is not a big money maker unless one off custom or mass produced on a jig.

3rd gens still draw too much money used to tube door trail rig them. The Tacos are just really starting to go that way and are a much better platform for such than the 3rd gen 4Runner.

There have been several 3rd gen tube doors threads but they all end up like this one will.

So I was looking at my runner Cuz I wanted to take the doors of because during the summer a straight black 4runner gets pretty hot during the summer! And all the forums said the electrical connecting are a biatch when taking your doors off, but I looked at mine and just inside the kick panel there's a quick disconnect type thing which contains all the wires for the door panel disconnect that, then take the 5 bolts off, the door should see come right off right??
