Why don't they make clear tailights for the 1st gens?

I personally think clears look great on first and second gen runners as long as they are ether a very light or very dark color but everyone has their own opinion about it. I guess that's why none of our runner look the same My 2nd gen:

Yea, of coarse the 3rd gens look good with clears (dark or light colors). Silver, white, black, dark blue, ect. I don't think they look all that good on red or green. Idono, mebe it's just me.

that 1st gen has a 1994 or 95 front bumper. cool. That 1st gen actually looks good and so does VL's. Ive always liked the look of his 4runner. It just comes down to different strokes for differents folks. The right owners/rig and some mods are acceptable but then there are some out there that are so confused as to what looks good.

You may not like them, but if I saw someone smashing my tail lights, it's open season on doing them some bodily harm, and I don't mean their Toyota body.

This is what a real "clear" lens looks like on a 1st gen.
And now I'll shut up since anything more I have to say falls heavily into the "flaming" category

Rust included???
The thing about clears of any kind, is make you sure you get the right bulbs! The reason different lights are different colors are for a very good reason. Red (brakes) is the most noticeable color by humans, yellow/orange cuts through fog/precipitation better and is also very noticeable.
Like someone else said, there are mods that combined with others will make any truck look good, but its not just in a singular mod, its in the package. Its all in making sure the truck/car has a unified look, no one mod should throw the balanced look of the vehicle.

Although the truck Vato posted looks good, I don't think I would do that to a first gen.
I kinda feel like it would end in the same result as putting clear tails on my FJ40.
My $.02

Hey, thanks for the pics VL!
I don't like them that much either. LOL! Maybe if they were more like the Altezzas I've seen on other makes it'd look better to me.
I guess I was looking for something that has the red/orange/white lens diffusers inside with chrome/black accents separating each segment under clear cover. Sort of like the new Nissan Altimas or Maximas.
Thanks for pics though, at least I know they actually make them (clear lens tailights) for the 1st gen 'Runners and '84-'88 PU's.

Anyway, mike asked a question, and now we know the answer...they do make them, but there's not much of a market.

I thought 1st gens were safe from bad taste. hehe
Actually they don't look too bad and I do have clear corners and signals.
Check out procarparts.com for your "rice" err,I mean, cutomizing parts needs. I got my corners/signals for $60 shipped from them.
