Warn bumper for 2000 4runner???

Im not looking for a super expensive or heavy bumper, but is there something that will allow me to attach a winch to a bumper. Warn has a product called the trans4mer that allows you to create whatever you need (for me really just a brush guard and winch). Heres the link if yall need an idea of what i'm talking about

http://warn.com/truck/mounting-syste...er_mount.shtml

but im not seeing anything for 4runners, any ideas guys?? What other products are out there and reliable?

I've tried to find one myself as a cheap winch mount but was unsuccessful. You will either have to fab your own or get a full bumper. I don't mind brush guards myself but others on here will refer them as "damage multipliers" because in a collision they seem to cause more damage than when left off. There even was a post recently on this. To me it's each to his own in that matter.

Will the same year Tacoma mount fit a similar year 4 Runner? Or perhaps an earlier Tacoma application fit my 99 4 Runner?

And yes with some cutting on the frame a taco bumper will fit.

if you want a winch, i guess you'll be wheelin. If you use brush guards, your approach angle is severely reduced due to the guard hanging under the bumper. Just get the bumper, you wont look back. Coming from experience as i had a brush guard in the beginning!

Depending on what kind of 'wheeling you are doing. I didn't do rock crawling stuff when I had a brush guard on mine. I primarily stuck to trail riding in the foothills mountains. I've been in deep ruts and climbed hills and didn't have a problem with approach angle. Departure angle yes due to a low hanging hitch.

He's wanting a brush guard with a winch mount, NOT "a super expensive and heavy bumper."

Exactly ironmmike.. I do mostly soft mudding not crazy rock crawling and those bumpers get heavy and pricy, but i pull a good bit of people out of the mud and a winch would be great

The problem with brush guards and similar bolt on winch mounts is the 4runners frame.

There is no strong way to bolt a winch mount onto a 4runners front frame with a plate or brush guard that retains the stock bumper.

So the only really good secure way to mount a winch to the front of a 4runner is by using a winch bumper like the ARB which bolts on the ends of the frame rails.

But even just bolting a winch bumper to the frame rails isn't strong enough. If you want it to hold up without tearing the frame rails you need to reinforce them with the "end cap mod".

Agreed, a brush guard with a winch mount is gona get pulled off under any amount of winching strain, if you want a winch you better get a real bumper, or get a hitch mounted winch, but they aren't so hot either...
