Voltmeter issues
I have a 93 truck, 22re, 5 speed. Recently (2 or 3 days ago) my voltmeter started moving ALOT. It would be around the 12ish area, but now it moves from 12ish to 9 or so then up to 13 or 14. it moves back and forth all the time while driving. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. :wtf:

It should hang out right at 13-14 all the time. Being that it varies below this, I would also check for loose and/or corroded wiring. Usually if a voltage regualtor goes bad, voltage runs high, like 17-18 or so. A low voltage could also be indicative of a bad alternator or a bad battery. Start cheap and check out wiring first and then go from there.

I still think it could be voltage regulator. When mine died, voltage dropped to around 9 volts. The cause was worn slip ring brushes. Weak contact inside the alternator = low voltage. A bad winding in the alternator will cause low volts also, but since yours jumps around so much, I'd check the wiring first then the alternator for poor contact.
