Hey Yoda-G2,
Good question- I just picked up my fj40 a couple weeks back, its got saginaw steering on it, and the steering is a bit "vague" already. I'm wondering whether the locker would make it down right scary?

That's exctly what I'm worried about. I have stock steering with 33's and a lot of slop. The guy I bought it from actually welded the rear AND front . I've already opened the front up, which was a questionable weld job, so the rear has me scared.

The thing is that driving with the back always locked is very predictable, but bye bye tire, its that engage / disengage you get with a locker that has me worried.

Hopefully someone can help us out.

Hey guys,

I got the info that sold me on it from teh richmond gear sales rep and thr master catalog (I have a copy) at the alst Summit Truckfest.

I get chirp every once in a while when I am lazy driving way too fast. With a little skill and a clutch it cam be all but eliminated from driving day to day and it rocks in the mud.

It took me about a week to get used to but now I can't imagine not having it on the trails. Its so cheap too, I love it! You should get one.
