I don't think you would need to have a winch plate because you have a steel bumper. So far as I know, a steel winch plate is required for all alloy TJM 15/17 bumper if a winch installed. You might need to contact Mike at Xtreme Offroad to verify that.

That's right, only the aluminum bumper requires the winch plate.

I third that. I asked that question to Mike at Xtreme the day I ordered my T15 and he said that. plus you have to make sure the winch is a low mount.

I have one of those hinged license plate holders, nifty little item. I modified mine and if I had a digital camera I could show you what I did. I cut the plate lengthwise just below the upper plate holes. I attached the lic plate using the lower two holes. Now the license plate is mounted above the roller heads and I don't have to flip up the holder to use the winch.

M8000, etc bolt right in after you take the bumper back off.

8000 is plenty, get a bigger one if you can't wheel.

I just got mine a few weeks back, through 4wheelparts, free shipping, with Hawse fairlead. I've still yet to remount the front license plate...

Also shows off my new Trail Carnage skid plates...

I found this on the TJM website (ref: http://www.tjmbullbars.com/faq.htm#faq3):
3. HOW DO FRONT LICENSE PLATES INSTALL ON THE BULL BARS?

U.S.A. license plates will bolt directly to the bull bar and completely cover the holes provided for winch fitment. Some bars may require drilling for license plate installation. All new models have pre-drilled holes for U.S.A. license plates.

When a winch is installed, a hinged winch cover / license plate holder is available from TJM Products for securing a license plate in front of the roller fairleads. The hinged winch cover swings away for easy access to the winch cable.
Given the standard spacing of the winch bolts, TJM's solution should work on other bumpers. I'd drop a line to Mike at Xtreme and ask.

That is the most ignorant statement you have made in a while Steve. Good to see you still have it...

I saw and liked their hinged cover, AlanH on the board showed his off at the Yotatech Fall Colors run we had here in WA. Having to drop the TJM was a pain, and the only way to get to the mounting locations for the winch very easily is to spool all the cable out. So, the odds of me taking everything down again install a new cover are slim to none. I'll either make something up myself, or just mount the license plate somewhere on the side. Plus, I like showing off my winch, makes me feel all cool and stuff.
