I used the starter bump method and found it a breeze. (Breaker bar and socket against frame. I don't see how it could pop loose if correct wrench is used and only bumped once and then checked). My manual tran would not allow me to loosen bolt even in 5th with e-brake on. Too much play in the system. My e-brake may have been engaging only one wheel at the time (seized bellcrank was fixed about six months later).
To install, I made a real cheapie tool with a 2x4 and some stove bolts I had lying around. I don't know if it would have worked to unbolt, but it worked to torque it up to spec. Bent the cheapie hardware store bolts some.
Remember, if you want to change the hydraulic tensioner, it is a lot more work and the Blue Point tool is unnecessary. So don't buy both. Next time I am not doing tensioner. At least I have a brand new unused Blue Point tool.

theres nothing wrong with using Non-OEM parts Elton....hell engine builders use NON OEM parts allllllll the time, almost anytime a motor gets rebuilt at a shop, he'll get just about the cheapest parts he can find, unless you tell them otherwise.

the belt, water pump, and oil pump ALL look BRAND NEW on my 3.0 i just got done tearing down a couple weeks ago, but i'm still replacing them for peace of mind LOL.
my belt doesn't say Toyota either, but i know my motor has had the headgasket replaced sometime, and the heads looked BRAND SPANKIN NEW..lol kind of a dead giveaway of a headgasket replacement cuz everything else was rusty

When you're using the tensioner tool take a lot of time, don't just crank it down.
