Thinking of rebuilding caliper
I noticed i have been loosing brake fluid. When doing the struts I noticed one of the calipers was wet and grease all over it. I am guessing that the seal in the piston is leaking. I am on a budget. I have been driving this way for about a year now. I am doing new pads and rotors and found a rebuild kit with new ring, seal and dust cap for $3.00. Is it pretty straight foward? I figured it was worth $3.00 to see if I could fix it.

I rebuilt two four piston calipers that I got out of a junkyard and it was cake. The hardest part is getting the pistons out of the halves of the caliper to replace the seals. Then again, they're weren't ABS calipers either and I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I ordered my kits, one for each caliper, from Napa and was suprised to see that one rebuild kit had parts for TWO calipers. lol! I see if I can find the thread I used to help me along.

Its great you going to rebuild them and alot of people do but i highly recommend buing new calipers but thats just me make sure you put it all back in its original postions inside there. You don't wanna go soaring though a red light now.
