Stock 3.4L 4Runner Dyno?
Anyone have a link to one? I'd like to compare it to a SC run to see where the difference in power is.
I searched around and couldn't find one. I dyno'd my mostly stock 99 TRD Taco 3.4L and it got 142RWHP with a Flowmaster 40, Deck Plate Mod, and Amsoil filter.

190 hp at the flywheel is correct. That is for the Tacomas.
The 4Runners, because they are "family vehicles" they use a quieter muffler and it only produces 180hp at the flywheel.

every dyno is going to be different, you could test the same truck on 5 diff. dynos and get diff. #'s on each of them ,i would figure a 20-25% loss with the drivetrain

Drivetrain loss was 18% on my Taco 5speed.
So what I'm hearing is that no one has dyno sheets from a stock 4Runner haha?
I've been playing with Dyno's for years and I know each one can read different, but the margin of error isn't that great if SAE correction is used. It gives a good idea.

Where did you hear that? That's interesting. I heard it was intake design and ECU maps. I'm wondering if an engine dyno would factor in the exhaust system. I've removed mufflers from both a Taco and a 4R and they looked exactly the same. Just curious.

The intakes look pretty much the same to me. I'd heard it was the exhaust configuration but more in respect to the manifold.

I forgot where i read it from, the owners manual says the HP, i think, and i compared it to my buddies taco... But if you think about it, in theory that would be correct, cause you dont want to wake the baby sleeping, so they put a quieter muffler on. the taco doesnt necessarily need it cause its under the bed.

You can look at someplace like K&N or Trueflow's website, they like to have dyno sheets detailing how much horsepower gain you see with their filters. personally, I'm not interested in anything but BRAKE-horsepower, as that doesn't change between dynos. I have yet to see a BHP dyno run for stock or supercharged 3.4l engines; problem is, the Dyno-Jet results just don't apply to real-world acceleration.
