Somethings wrong.

Alright, I just got done putting my engine in and connected everything, put all fluids in. I go to start it and it wont start (because of my old ass starter) but thats not the problem. I played around with it and got it to crankover but I just let it crank for less than a second. It seemed really tight and my whole truck was dipping right?! The motor has 0miles on it and it was a very slow crank. What could this be, I need to do the timing and check the valves while there warm.

Maybe a dead battery, or maybe your trans is in gear and your tires are blocked. Not sure, but for sure check the battery to make sure that it has enough juice to start the new motor. Don't forget to post pics when she's runnin'.

Alright, the battery is new, and I did have the wheels blocked. Also I leaked a little hydrolic fluid where the clutch is on the side of the tranny and my clutch pedal goes right to the floor, I checked and put a little fluid in all that is can hold but how do I get or pump the fluid in the line? Also I think its my timinf which is off 180 degrees, how do I change or reverse that?

Did you prime the motor before trying to start it? You shouldn't try and start a dry motor.

set the crankshaft to TDC. take the distributor out. rotate the crankshaft by hand *one* complete revolution (so it is back at TDC). put the distributor back in.

also, if the contacts in your starter are worn, you can often get it to turn the engine over, but not fast enough to actually start...and, in this situation, it will often seem like the engine is sort of stuck or the battery is bad because it sounds like the starter is working really hard to turn it over, but it's not turning very fast. in reality, though, the starter is just not getting enough juice to turn the motor fast enough.

Hey Little thanks for the info, I did that and put the distibutor back in and took the cap off now the rotor in the distributor is pointing at the 4th cylinder. So I guess I have to put it back where it was? Also could valves do this?

its not a valve problem.....

advance the timing gear to when installed the rotor points forward and up at a clsoe t o45* angle in relation to the vehcile.... very tight... i hope you didn't try to start a new engine without first priming it... if anything is tight, you migth have already siezed the pistons in the cylinders.....

No, I primed it, actually to much because right now I have the plugs out letting it dry itself. It's flooded. I just took the starter connector off and hit the key one to many times. I fixed the timing it's pretty close now, I also fixed the clutch, I bled the line. I'm letting it dry over night I'll try to start it in the morning. I was trying to start it, and it was turning over but the plugs are covered in gas so tomorrow will be the launch day.
